With business partners all over the world, Shima Company has received a large number of questions. Here we have provided answers to a few of the most common ones.
How do we place an order?
Please use our e-mail form, or just give us a call.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept money transfers or payment through L/C.
Is it possible to pay in installments?
Full payment up front is generally required for vehicles, but when purchasing engines and containers for parts, we require advance payment of 50% towards the Proforma invoice or JPY 1,500,000, whichever is greater. After shipping, please make payment of the remainder towards the B/L copy. Please speak with our sales staff for more information.
Can I purchase trucks by CKD (Complete Knock Down)?
Not a problem. Shima Company is one of the largest, most full-featured truck dismantling factories in Japan. Our experienced vanning experts also ensure your package is carefully vanned with Forklift.
How long will my order take to arrive?
It depends on the method of shipment: by container and by RORO shipment. For vehicles in inventory, shipments may be sent out in as little as one week following receipt of payment, though this depends on ship schedules. However, reserving space for a ship may be made difficult by the shipping route and the season, and there have been cases where shipments required almost 2 months to arrive. It may also depend on the ordered items. We start arranging container and its shipment after we confirm the deposit. Please contact our sales staff for more information.
Can you conduct Jevic or JAAI inspections?
Absolutely. This does not mean, however, that all vehicles satisfy Jevic/JAAI requirements. Our sales staff can provide more information.
Do you offer quality guarantees?
While we have set standards for quality, we offer no guarantees. As we deal in used parts, quality is going to differ even for the same model of part. Parts sales by container are generally made to vendors "as is, where is", and we lower prices accordingly.
What languages do you support?
We offer our services in Japanese and English. We also have customers who can only speak Spanish, one of whom does over JPY 100 million worth of business with us every year. We have customers who speak only Chinese or French, and we have never had any issues with them to date. Since language is merely a skill used in business, not being able to speak the language does not mean we cannot do business. All you need is a desire for our items!
